Housed in a double-storey Victorian terrace, Epocha could have easily come across as aloof, but entering the arched doorway is rather like going to a (well- heeled) friend’s place for dinner. Much
 of that is due to the warmth of its seasoned professional owners, Angie Giannakodakis and Guy Holder. Inside, the room is flatteringly lit with a taverna-casual
 bent, imparting a stylish sense of occasion thanks to its grand proportions. The menu encourages sharing and leans towards
 the Mediterranean – French and Italian preserved meats; swordfish carpaccio; burrata served with figs and vincotto; baked whole fish with lemon and
